About the Role

We are seeking an experienced HSE Manager to oversee all Health, Safety, and Environmental activities relating to the electrical package on a large-scale mission-critical construction project in Sweden. The successful candidate will lead site safety efforts, ensure compliance with Swedish regulations, and drive a strong safety culture among contractors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.

This position is ideally suited to candidates with experience in data centers, pharmaceutical facilities, semiconductor plants, EPC projects, industrial construction, or other mission-critical environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all HSE activities associated with electrical installation works.
  • Ensure compliance with Swedish HSE legislation and client safety requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific HSE plans, procedures, and safe systems of work.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety walks.
  • Review and approve Risk Assessments (RA), Method Statements (RAMS), Permit to Work systems, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Manage contractor safety performance and monitor compliance standards.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Facilitate daily briefings, toolbox talks, and safety training sessions.
  • Produce weekly and monthly HSE reports for the client and project leadership team.
  • Support electrical supervisors and package managers with planning high-risk activities.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture focused on incident prevention and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Essential

  • 5+ years of HSE experience within construction or industrial projects.
  • Previous experience managing HSE on electrical packages.
  • Experience working on:
    • Data Centers
    • Pharmaceutical Projects
    • Industrial Construction
    • EPC Projects
    • Manufacturing Facilities
    • Mission Critical Environments
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Electrical Safety
    • Permit to Work Systems
    • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
    • High-Risk Construction Activities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced project environment.

Preferred

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
  • IOSH Managing Safely.
  • Degree or Diploma in Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience working on projects valued above €50M.
  • Knowledge of Swedish construction regulations and safety standards.
