Our Client a tier one leading contractor is seeking a helath & safety advisor to work on a long term contract on a major infrastructure project based in North East Lincolncshire.


Key Responsibilities

Providing support to the IERRT project team in the safe delivery of the contract through the implementation of the companies HSW Policy and IERRT HSW management plans and systems.Assist in the production of HSMS site specific procedures/ arrangements and plansEnsure project compliance with statutory legislation, contractual HSW requirements and industry best practice.Assist in the preparation and review of risk assessments and safe systems of work.Actively promote behaviours key to a positive health, safety and wellbeing culture.Support and carry out inspection and monitoring activities and effective use of the arising data.Participate in developing and presenting inductions and training as required, and mentor other project staff members.Assist/lead in investigations into accidents and incidents and root causes, and support the implementation of corrective actions.Ensure that key HSW data including incident, monitoring, and audit findings are recorded in the appropriate management database and used to inform learning and drive forward improvement.Assist the Head of HSW UK&I as required and support the business in the successful delivery of the annual HSW Strategy and Plan.Visibly active both within the office and site environmentsAssist with the capturing of lessons learned and the dissemination of the information through the creation of toolbox talks and HSW briefings.Set a personal example of the behaviours that positively influence HSW attitudes

Qualifications, Certifications & Experience

Marine and general construction H&S knowledgeUnderstanding of working in Tier 2 COMAH zoneExcellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal and be comfortable communicating at all levels throughout the project.Minimum NEBOSH Construction Certificate and demonstrate a level of experience relevant for the role. Able to demonstrate an understanding of the role of HSW Management in a Design and Build construction team.Ability to influence both project team and key stakeholders.A clear thinker with strong interpersonal skillsUnderstanding of Behaviour and its influence on Culture.Understanding of Occupational HealthExperience of delivering training and conducting presentationsComputer literate with experience of Microsoft Powerpoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerBi, document control software

We are recruiting a Health & Safety Advisor for a Tier 1 contractor delivering a major marine and civils infrastructure project at the Port of Immingham.

The Role:

Provide day-to-day H&S advice and support to site management across marine and landside work packagesConduct site inspections, audits, and safety tours, raising and closing out NCRs where requiredSupport development and review of RAMS across civils, marine, and MEP worksInvestigate incidents, near-misses, and accidents, producing reports and identifying corrective actionsDeliver toolbox talks and support site inductions for a diverse, multi-trade workforceMonitor compliance with CDM Regulations, client-specific requirements, and NEC4 contract obligationsLiaise with the client, principal designer, and subcontractors on H&S mattersSupport H&S input on marine/piling operations and adjacent live port operations

About You:

NEBOSH General/Construction Certificate (NEBOSH Diploma desirable)Proven H&S experience on major civils/marine infrastructure projects desirableExperience working on major infrastructure projectsValid CSCS cardStrong working knowledge of CDM RegulationsConfident communicator, comfortable challenging poor practice on siteUK Driving License, willing to commute or relocate to Immingham
