Overview:

We are seeking an experienced MEP Commissioning Manager to lead and oversee the full mechanical and electrical commissioning programme on a 100MW greenfield hyperscale data centre project in Stockholm, Sweden. Working on behalf of a fast-growing Nordic general contractor, you will be the senior commissioning authority on site, responsible for the end-to-end commissioning lifecycle across all MEP workstreams from pre-commissioning strategy and planning through to Level 1-5 functional testing, integrated systems testing, and final client handover. You will manage and coordinate all specialist commissioning subcontractors and package managers, interface with the developer's commissioning team, and ensure all systems are delivered to specification, on programme, and to the required quality standard.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and maintain the project commissioning management plan, commissioning schedule, and Level 1-5 commissioning procedures across all MEP workstreams including mechanical, electrical, BMS, controls, fire suppression, security, and life safety systems.Coordinate and manage all pre-commissioning activities across mechanical and electrical workstreams, ensuring all systems are installed, tested, and signed off to the required standard ahead of functional testing.Lead functional testing and integrated systems testing (IST) across all MEP systems, coordinating specialist commissioning subcontractors, package managers, vendors, and the client commissioning team throughout.Witness and sign off FATs and SATs on all critical plant and equipment across both mechanical and electrical scopes, including generators, UPS, switchgear, transformers, cooling plant, BMS, fire suppression, and security systems.Manage the site-wide commissioning tracker, punch list, and issue log, ensuring all items are assigned, tracked, and formally closed out prior to system handover.Coordinate with the BMS and controls commissioning teams to ensure full integration of all mechanical and electrical systems is verified and signed off as part of the IST programme.Interface directly with the developer's commissioning agent and client quality team, attending all commissioning hold points, witness inspections, and sign-off activities.Manage the on-site commissioning team including subcontractor commissioning engineers and specialist vendors, planning and mobilising resources to maintain the commissioning programme.Compile and review all commissioning records, test results, as-built documentation, and O&M manuals into the final handover dossier.Report commissioning progress, risks, and programme deviations to the project manager and client on a weekly basis.

Requirements:

Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.10+ years of MEP commissioning experience on large-scale construction projects, with a minimum of 4 years leading full MEP commissioning programmes on data centre or critical facility projects at GC or main contractor level.Proven track record delivering L1-L5 commissioning on data centre projects of 30MW IT load or above, with demonstrable experience managing both mechanical and electrical commissioning workstreams simultaneously.Strong technical understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems in a data centre context: cooling plant, electrical distribution, UPS, generators, switchgear, BMS, fire suppression, and life safety.Proven experience managing and coordinating multiple specialist commissioning subcontractors on fast-track hyperscale programmes.Proficiency with commissioning management tools such as CxPlanner, Omega 365, or similar.Experience working on data centre projects in the Nordic region or with Nordic contractors is a significant advantage.Fluent English required; Swedish language skills are a strong advantage.
