Civils Sub Agent (Contract)
Location: West London, close to a major international airport
About the Opportunity
Our client is a leading construction contractor with a long-standing presence on a major UK transport hub, delivering complex infrastructure projects to high standards of quality, safety and environmental performance. Working under a long-term framework, they deliver design and build projects across both airside and landside areas, including pavement rehabilitation, critical utilities replacement and the redevelopment of operational areas. The programme is ongoing, with further major resurfacing works in planning. Work is carefully planned around critical live assets, with close engagement across a wide range of stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Follow company procedures, including method statements, risk assessments and briefings, setting a strong example on health, safety, quality and environmental standardsSupport the Agent with cost management and programme preparationMentor site engineers to maintain strong engineering control and accurate recordsWork with commercial teams to ensure measurement and payment records are accurate and timelyWork with the Agent to allocate labour, plant, materials and temporary works designsFlag potential commercial or contractual risks to the AgentManage material orders and supplier relationships to ensure on-time deliveryManage subcontractors to ensure services are delivered effectively and in line with company policiesPromote company values in all dealings with colleagues, clients, subcontractors and external contactsDeliver daily activity briefings and keep a regular site diarySkills and Experience
Developing commercial and contractual knowledge, with evidence of practical applicationExperience in a cost-conscious environmentGood people management experienceExperience managing subcontractorsValid CSCS cardExcellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with clients, stakeholders and subcontractorsTechnical civil engineering knowledge, with proven Section Engineer-level site experience across both civils and utilities projectsComputer literateMembership of the Institution of Civil Engineers or equivalent (desirable)To apply: Contact Jade Ferreira at Smart4 EPC, [email protected] | +44 20 3871 0458
