Senior Electrical Engineer - Data Centers

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join a leading engineering consultancy delivering mission-critical and data center projects across North America. We are seeking a technically strong engineer with a background in MEP consulting and critical facilities who is passionate about delivering innovative electrical systems for some of the most demanding environments in the industry.

The Role

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of electrical systems for data centers and other critical facilities. You will be responsible for providing technical leadership, overseeing project execution, and acting as a key point of contact for clients, contractors, architects, and project stakeholders.

This position combines hands-on engineering design with project management, business development, and mentorship responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Lead electrical design for mission-critical and data center projects.Develop system layouts, calculations, equipment selections, and technical specifications.Utilize Revit and AutoCAD to develop and review project documentation.Coordinate designs with mechanical, structural, architectural, and other engineering disciplines.Act as Engineer of Record on assigned projects.Establish project design standards, specifications, and technical criteria.Prepare engineering reports, due diligence studies, feasibility reports, and gap analyses.Manage project budgets, schedules, and resource planning.Oversee QA/QC reviews and ensure technical excellence across project deliverables.Perform site investigations and construction administration activities.Review drawings and designs for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.Represent the business in meetings with clients, contractors, architects, and project teams.Support business development initiatives and foster new client relationships.Network within the industry and contribute to professional development initiatives.Take ownership of project performance, risk management, and technical quality.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.Minimum 8+ years of experience within the MEP consulting engineering industry.Proven experience delivering critical facilities, mission-critical, or data center projects.Professional Engineer (PE) license required.Strong hands-on electrical design experience.Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.Experience performing power system design, equipment selection, and electrical calculations.Strong understanding of electrical infrastructure within mission-critical environments.Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams.Excellent client-facing, communication, and leadership skills.Ability to mentor and develop engineering staff.

Preferred Experience

Experience in any of the following sectors would be highly advantageous:

The Role

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, coordination, and delivery of mission-critical projects.
