Overview

A leading contractor is looking for an experienced HSE Manager to support the delivery of a major data centre project in Stockholm, Sweden.

This is a key role focused on Health, Safety & Environmental management across a large-scale electrical package, working within a fast-paced, mission-critical construction environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving HSE standards across site activities, ensuring compliance with Swedish legislation and project requirements, and working closely with the client, main contractor, electrical contractors, and wider project teams to deliver the project safely and efficiently.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as an HSE Manager / HSE Lead on large-scale construction projects
  • Strong background in data centres, mission-critical, or high-risk construction environments
  • Experience supporting the delivery of large electrical packages or electrical construction works
  • Strong knowledge of construction HSE management, risk assessment, RAMS and permit-to-work systems
  • Experience managing HSE across electrical installation, testing and commissioning activities
  • Strong understanding of electrical construction risks and safe systems of work
  • Experience coordinating HSE requirements across subcontractors, contractors, consultants, and client teams
  • Knowledge of Swedish HSE legislation and construction regulations is highly desirable
  • Experience conducting site inspections, audits, toolbox talks and incident investigations
  • Ability to monitor and drive HSE performance across a large and fast-moving project
  • Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working in fast-track / high-pressure environments
  • Fluent English required; Swedish beneficial

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead HSE delivery across the electrical package on the data centre project
  • Drive a strong safety culture across contractors and subcontractors
  • Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements, legislation and industry standards
  • Review and approve RAMS, risk assessments, permits and method statements
  • Monitor electrical installation, testing and commissioning activities from an HSE perspective
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits and safety walks
  • Identify risks and implement effective corrective and preventative actions
  • Lead and support incident, near-miss and accident investigations
  • Coordinate HSE requirements between the electrical contractor, main contractor, client and wider project teams
  • Deliver and support toolbox talks, inductions and HSE briefings
  • Track HSE performance, KPIs, actions and compliance across the project
  • Support programme delivery by proactively identifying and resolving HSE issues
  • Ensure environmental and sustainability requirements are maintained throughout delivery
  • Provide regular HSE reporting and communicate performance to project stakeholders
  • Promote continuous improvement and maintain the highest standards of safety across this mission-critical project
