About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced MEP Lead to join a major Data Centre construction project in Skellefteå, Sweden. This role is responsible for leading and coordinating all Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) activities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring successful delivery from design and installation through to commissioning and client handover.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in delivering mission-critical infrastructure while working closely with project teams, subcontractors, consultants and the client to ensure programme, quality, safety and commercial objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all MEP services across the design, construction, testing, commissioning and handover phases.
  • Manage and support MEP project teams, including engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and specialist vendors.
  • Oversee technical reviews, quality inspections, progress tracking and project reporting.
  • Ensure all MEP works are delivered in accordance with project specifications, programme requirements, safety standards and company procedures.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, design teams and internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project alignment.
  • Review and approve MEP design documentation, technical submittals, shop drawings, commissioning plans and method statements.
  • Identify and resolve design, installation and coordination issues to maintain project progress and minimise risk.
  • Drive commissioning readiness activities and ensure a seamless transition through testing, commissioning and client handover.
  • Support project planning, forecasting, procurement and resource management activities.
  • Coordinate closely with CSA and Commissioning teams to ensure successful integration of all project systems.
  • Monitor project performance against programme, budget, quality and safety targets.
  • Promote a strong Health & Safety culture across all MEP activities on site.

Requirements

  • Must hold a valid EU passport and be eligible to work in Sweden.
  • Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience delivering large-scale construction, industrial, mission-critical or Data Centre projects with a strong MEP focus.
  • Proven experience in an MEP Lead, Senior MEP Manager, MEP Project Manager or similar leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of MEP systems, design coordination, installation methodologies, testing and commissioning processes.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors and key project stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams while maintaining programme, quality and safety objectives.
  • Previous Data Centre, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, battery plant or other mission-critical project experience is highly desirable.
