Site Agent (Structures) - Highways

Oxfordshire | Permanent | Major Infrastructure Project

Are you an experienced Site Agent with a strong background in civil engineering structures and highways infrastructure?

We are working with a leading UK civil engineering contractor delivering a major infrastructure scheme in Oxfordshire and are seeking a proactive and technically competent Structures Site Agent to join the project team.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role on a high-profile project, managing site operations, driving programme delivery, and leading engineering teams through the construction phase.

The Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and successful delivery of structures works while maintaining quality, programme, and budget objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and mentoring Site Engineers and Section Engineers
  • Supporting project delivery across programme, budget, safety, and quality targets
  • Planning and coordinating construction activities and site resources
  • Producing and reviewing work package plans and construction documentation
  • Managing subcontractors and supplier performance
  • Monitoring progress and ensuring contractual requirements are met
  • Working closely with planning and commercial teams
  • Leading site meetings, briefings, and reporting activities
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
  • Supporting project close-out activities and documentation
  • Promoting a positive safety culture across the project team

Requirements

Essential:

  • Previous experience as a Site Agent, Senior Engineer, or Section Engineer on civil engineering projects
  • Strong understanding of NEC contracts
  • HNC, HND, or Degree in Civil Engineering
  • SMSTS
  • First Aid at Work
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Strong technical and problem-solving capabilities

Desirable:

  • Highways or major infrastructure project experience
  • Structures, bridges, or heavy civil engineering experience
  • Temporary Works Coordinator certification
  • CPCS Appointed Person qualification
  • AutoCAD proficiency
