We are working with a leading organisation within the infrastructure and energy sector is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join its growing team, supporting the delivery of low-carbon and decarbonisation projects across the UK.
The Role
You will be responsible for leading the commercial function across a portfolio of projects, ensuring robust cost control, contract management, and financial performance throughout.
Key Responsibilities
Managing all commercial activities from pre-construction through to final accountTaking full ownership of contract terms, identifying and mitigating risks while maximising opportunitiesLeading contract negotiations, valuations, and final accounts with clients and suppliersProducing and maintaining accurate forecasting, cost reporting, and financial performance analysisOverseeing subcontractor procurement, management, and commercial performanceDriving strong commercial governance, contract administration, and compliance processesLeading estimating activities including cost planning, bills of quantities, and supply chain engagementSupporting procurement strategy and wider commercial decision-makingMaintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders across projectsEnsuring a strong health & safety culture is embedded across all commercial activities.About You

We are working with a Major Tier One Civil Engineering contractor who are recruiting for a Commercial Manager to join its leadership team. This is a key role within one of the most complex and high‑value civils programmes in the country, offering the opportunity to influence commercial strategy and delivery on a nationally significant project.
The Role
As Commercial Manager, you will oversee major work packages exceeding £100m, ensuring robust commercial governance, strong cost control, and effective contract administration. You will work closely with project leadership, commercial teams, and external stakeholders to drive value, manage risk, and support successful programme delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Administer NEC3 and NEC4 contracts across large‑scale civils work packagesManage commercial performance on packages valued £100m+Support the Commercial Lead and provide clear commercial guidance to project teamsDevelop and maintain strong commercial, financial, and reporting processesLead risk and opportunity management to protect and maximise commercial entitlementSupport contract reviews and ensure accurate monthly commercial reportingLead commercial negotiations with internal and external stakeholdersMonitor and evidence KPI performance across assigned packagesPrepare monthly cost reports, forecasts, and contract budgetsProvide timely, high‑quality information to support change controlSupport procurement activities and prepare subcontract documentationManage subcontractors from award through to final accountMaintain detailed registers for variations, delays, EOTs, and claims
About You
