Overview

A leading contractor delivering mission-critical and large-scale construction projects is seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to lead and manage the commissioning process from planning through to client handover. The successful candidate will oversee multidisciplinary commissioning teams, coordinate stakeholders across construction and engineering disciplines, and ensure all systems are tested, validated, and handed over in accordance with project requirements and industry standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commissioning professional with experience in data centres, industrial facilities, pharmaceutical projects, or other critical environments.

Essential Skills & ExperienceProven experience as a Commissioning Manager, Lead Commissioning Engineer, or Senior Commissioning Supervisor (typically 5+ years)Strong understanding of commissioning processes across mechanical, electrical, controls, and integrated systemsExperience managing commissioning activities on large-scale construction or mission-critical projectsAbility to develop and implement commissioning strategies, schedules, and proceduresStrong understanding of system testing, validation, integrated systems testing (IST), and project handover processesExperience managing multidisciplinary commissioning teams and subcontractorsExcellent leadership, planning, and stakeholder management skillsAbility to review technical documentation, specifications, drawings, and test proceduresExperience producing commissioning documentation, reports, completion records, and turnover packagesProficiency with Microsoft Office and commissioning management platformsWillingness to work on-site and travel as requiredMust be an EU CitizenDesirable SkillsData Centre commissioning experienceExperience on mission-critical, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, industrial, or infrastructure projectsKnowledge of commissioning standards and best practicesBackground in MEP, electrical, mechanical, controls, or building services engineeringHealth & Safety qualifications or relevant site certificationsExperience delivering projects through to successful client acceptance and handoverKey ResponsibilitiesLead and manage all commissioning activities throughout the project lifecycleDevelop commissioning plans, procedures, schedules, and project-specific strategiesCoordinate commissioning engineers, vendors, subcontractors, and project teamsManage pre-commissioning, commissioning, system validation, and integrated systems testing activitiesEnsure all systems are tested and commissioned in line with project specifications and client requirementsMonitor commissioning progress and provide regular reporting to project leadership and stakeholdersIdentify, manage, and close commissioning-related issues and deficienciesReview commissioning documentation, test records, and turnover packagesCoordinate client demonstrations, witness testing, and system sign-off activitiesAttend project meetings and provide commissioning expertise throughout project deliveryPromote and maintain the highest standards of health, safety, and quality on-siteSupport project handover and ensure successful transition to operations teamsAct as the primary point of contact for all commissioning-related activities on the project
