HSE Manager | Data Centres / Critical Infrastructure

We are seeking an experienced HSE Manager to join a major construction and infrastructure project. This position is ideal for a safety professional with a strong background in Data Centre, Critical Infrastructure, Industrial, Energy, or Large-Scale Construction projects. Experience working with structural steel, steel erection, heavy lifting operations, and complex construction environments is highly preferred.
As the HSE Manager, you will be responsible for driving a proactive safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental performance across the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all Health, Safety & Environmental activities across the project.
- Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific HSE plans, procedures, and policies.
- Ensure compliance with local legislation, client requirements, and company standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety observations.
- Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training.
- Monitor contractor and subcontractor safety performance.
- Review and approve risk assessments, method statements, and permit-to-work documentation.
- Support critical activities including steel erection, lifting operations, working at height, confined space entry, and energised systems.
- Drive behavioural safety initiatives and continuous improvement programmes.
- Produce accurate HSE reports, KPI dashboards, and client updates.
- Liaise with clients, project management teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Promote environmental compliance and sustainable construction practices throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure emergency preparedness and response plans are in place and regularly tested.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HSE Manager on Data Centre, Critical Infrastructure, Industrial, Energy, or Large Construction projects.
- Strong understanding of steel construction, structural steel erection, and heavy industrial activities.
- Experience working within fast-paced, high-value construction environments.
- Excellent knowledge of HSE legislation, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Ability to influence, engage, and coach personnel at all levels.
- Strong incident investigation and root cause analysis experience.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Relevant HSE qualifications and certifications.

- Hyperscale Data Centre construction projects.
- Mission-critical facilities.
- Pharmaceutical, manufacturing, energy, or industrial construction projects.
- Steel fabrication and modular construction environments.
- Major infrastructure and utility projects.
