Job Role

A great opportunity for a mechanical engineer looking to build a career in mission critical facilities. Working under the guidance of a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer, you'll take ownership of discipline-specific technical work, offer solutions to general design challenges, and provide guidance to designers. This is a strong fit for someone who enjoys technically demanding, cutting-edge data center work and wants to grow within a well-established, integrated design practice.

Requirements

- Develop basic mechanical system designs under supervision, offering solutions to general technical problems

- Delegate tasks to project designers as appropriate

- Work with the project team to prepare deliverables in line with client scope and intent

- Coordinate across disciplines to fully integrate design work and client requests

- Follow quality management processes; review deliverables prior to QA/QC submission

- Support shop drawing and submittal reviews, RFI responses, site observation reports, and punch lists

- Attend project coordination meetings and assist with construction administration tasks

- Actively participate in the wider engineering community through seminars, conferences, and professional development

- Support the Project Engineer on broader project tasks

- Meet utilisation goals and adhere to project budgets

Qualifications

- Accredited engineering degree (or equivalent experience)

- Minimum 3 years of related industry experience

- PE, FE/EIT, or other relevant professional certification preferred

- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM 360, and Trace 700; familiarity with hydraulic modelling software (e.g. Pipe-Flo) and CFD software (e.g. Fluent, 6Sigma) preferred

- Strong communication skills, with the ability to coordinate confidently across vendors and disciplines

- Effective organisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities

- Data center experience preferred but not required
