We are assisting our client who is a Top 5 ranked Main Contractor on their search for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join them on HS2 project doing a 90km stretch of the West Midlands route, building the infrastructure that will one day carry trains between London and Birmingham at up to 225mph.
What you'll be doing:
Leading and owning key commercial tasks, with real autonomy to make decisions in your areaReporting into a Project Manager or Commercial Manager on commercial matters for your section of the projectProtecting the commercial position through strong contractual, insurance and legal knowledgePlaying a role in client relationship management to keep contracts progressing smoothlyMentoring and developing junior members of the commercial teamWorking hand-in-hand with the delivery team to solve real engineering and commercial challengesPreparing tender packages, evaluating returns, and appointing subcontractors accurately and on timeWhat you'll bring:

This role holds responsibility for the coordination, design validation, and procurement of station fit-out and architectural packages, playing a central part in delivering complex, high-profile station environments to the highest standard.
Suited to a project manager with a strong main contractor background who has hands-on experience across architectural and fit-out workstreams.

The role manages remaining design scope exceeding £100m in value, liaising with the client and the Principal Designer, and certifying that works have been constructed in accordance with the design.
Suited to either a strong Project Manager with pre-construction experience, or a Design-led Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate all design disciplines on the project, managing design consultant communications, submissions and deliverables.Maintain and update the Design Management Programme (DMP) and design programme, tracking milestones and managing recovery where required.Manage design interfaces and integration across all workstreams, resolving clashes and escalating issues as appropriate.Liaise with the client and the Principal Designer, representing the Tier 1 Contractor in design reviews and assurance forums.Certify, on behalf of the Lead Design Manager, that works are constructed in accordance with the approved design.Ensure compliance with the clients technical standards, the Design Management Plan, and relevant work instructions including WI300 5.3.Manage design consultant performance against contractual deliverables, supporting change control and cost oversight.Requirements:
