Supervising Electrical Engineer - Data Centers

📍 Dallas, TX

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Supervising Electrical Engineer to join a leading engineering consultancy specializing in mission-critical and highly technical facilities. This role is ideal for a senior-level electrical engineer who enjoys balancing technical excellence, project leadership, client engagement, and team management.

You will play a key role in the delivery of critical facilities and data center projects while acting as a mentor to engineers and supporting the growth of a high-performing technical team.

The Role

As a Supervising Electrical Engineer, you will serve as the primary technical lead and Engineer of Record on major projects. You will oversee multidisciplinary project teams, coordinate with clients and stakeholders, and ensure the successful delivery of complex electrical systems for mission-critical environments.

The position offers significant responsibility across project management, technical leadership, business development, and staff development activities.

Key Responsibilities

Act as Engineer of Record on assigned projects.Lead client interactions and maintain strong relationships with owners, contractors, architects, and consultants.Manage the design and delivery of electrical systems for critical facilities and data center projects.Coordinate and assign project work amongst engineering teams.Establish project design criteria, technical standards, and specifications.Lead project coordination meetings and technical reviews.Supervise and mentor engineering staff.Conduct employee performance reviews and support career development initiatives.Assist with technical training and knowledge-sharing programs.Oversee construction administration activities, including:Site reviews and field reportsRFIsBulletinsAddendaTechnical responses and documentationReview engineering reports and system analyses.Participate in project budgeting, resource planning, and scheduling.Prepare proposals and support contract administration.Work alongside finance teams to support invoicing, project forecasting, and account receivable management.Monitor project communications and ensure effective coordination between all stakeholders.Contribute to technical leadership initiatives and engineering best practices across the business.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.Minimum 12+ years of experience within an MEP consulting engineering environment.Proven experience delivering critical facilities, data center, mission-critical, commercial, healthcare, or aviation projects.Current Professional Engineer (PE) license required.Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience.Strong hands-on electrical design experience.Advanced proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD.Ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and manage complex projects.Strong understanding of electrical power systems within critical environments.Excellent client-facing, communication, and leadership skills.Experience with project budgeting, scheduling, and staff allocation.Track record of mentoring and developing engineering talent.
