Senior Supervising Engineer (Project Manager) - Data Centers

📍 Dallas, TX

Are you looking to work on complex, high-profile critical facilities and data center projects while advancing your engineering career? We are seeking an experienced Senior Supervising Engineer (Project Manager) to join a growing team delivering innovative engineering solutions across mission-critical environments.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical or Electrical Engineer with a strong background in consulting engineering, project management, and critical facilities design to take a leadership role on major projects while mentoring junior team members and driving client success.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Supervising Engineer (Project Manager), you will act as a key point of contact for clients, contractors, architects, and project stakeholders throughout all phases of project delivery.

Responsibilities include:

Leading the design and coordination of critical facility and data center projects.Developing system layouts using CAD/BIM platforms.Performing engineering calculations and technical analysis using industry-standard software.Coordinating design activities with internal and external architectural and engineering teams.Establishing system applications, operational sequences, and design criteria.Managing and overseeing QA/QC processes for project deliverables.Supporting project scheduling, budgeting, staffing, and resource planning.Conducting site visits, field inspections, and preparing detailed reports.Reviewing and responding to RFIs, Change Orders, Bulletins, and Addenda.Directing CAD/BIM and technical staff assigned to projects.Assisting with employee development and performance reviews.Preparing engineering proposals and technical documentation.Participating in industry organizations and professional presentations.Developing Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) cost estimates and evaluating project feasibility.Acting as a client liaison while ensuring successful project execution.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.8 to 12+ years of experience within a consulting engineering environment.Minimum 4 years of project leadership, team management, and client-facing experience.Professional Engineer (PE) license required.Strong experience with Revit and AutoCAD MEP.Ability to prepare and review redline markups for technical drafting teams.Strong understanding of building construction, floor plans, sections, and elevations.Experience using discipline-specific design and calculation software.Proven ability to make appropriate system selections and engineering decisions.Strong understanding of multidisciplinary project coordination.Thorough knowledge of applicable building codes and industry standards.Experience with SKM software and performing Short Circuit, Coordination, and Arc Flash Studies is highly desirable.
