Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager - One North Quay (Life Science Facility)

Up to £95k (SQS) / Up to £108k (CM) + Benefits

Our client, a leading main contractor, is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor - or a Commercial Manager for the right candidate - to join their team on a landmark life science facility at One North Quay, Canary Wharf.

You'll take ownership of commercial management on a high-profile life science build, working closely with the operational team to protect and maximise contractual entitlements. Depending on experience, this role could suit someone ready to step up into a Commercial Manager position.

Key Responsibilities

Promote a safety-first culture across all project activitiesEnsure compliance with legal, contractual, and company processesUnderstand contract terms and manage commercial risks and opportunities under a bespoke contract (similar in structure to JCT)Maintain accurate records to support contractual entitlementsPrepare and submit applications, securing payment and variationsManage subcontract accounts through to final accountMonitor progress and provide accurate commercial reportingSupport negotiation and settlement of the final account with the clientFor CM-level candidates: broader oversight of the commercial team and project commercial strategy

What We're Looking For

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within commercial/complex build environmentsExperience working on life science, laboratory, or high-specification technical builds is highly advantageousDegree/HNC level qualification and/or significant relevant experienceExperience managing change and subcontract accountsGood working knowledge of JCT contracts, or bespoke contracts based on JCT principlesCandidates with Commercial Manager-level experience are encouraged to apply and will be considered for a higher package
