We are recruiting for a Delivery Lead to join a leading Tier 1 contractor on a major civil engineering section of HS2. This is a pivotal role within a high‑performing project team shaping the future of national transport infrastructure.
The Role
Reporting to the Project Director, you will take responsibility for a significant portion of a large-scale infrastructure programme. You will lead multidisciplinary teams and work closely with stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination across procurement, design, construction, and assurance functions.
You will play a pivotal role in delivering works safely, on time, and within budget, while fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture across all delivery partners.
Key Responsibilities
Define and implement delivery strategy in line with overall programme objectivesLead and manage large, multidisciplinary teams, including Senior Project Managers and functional leadsEnsure safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of works in accordance with programme schedulesOversee coordination between design, procurement, construction, and assurance teamsTake full accountability for project budgets, forecasts, and timelinesDrive continuous improvement across quality, safety, cost, and programme performanceManage client relationships and act as the key point of escalationOversee procurement activities, including review and approval of scopes prior to tenderLead reporting to senior stakeholders, including progress, risks, and financial performanceLead investigations into safety and quality issues, implementing lessons learned and preventative measuresFoster collaboration across stakeholders, supply chain partners, and internal teamsAbout You
Proven leadership experience managing teams of 30+ in complex project environmentsStrong background in infrastructure or major construction programmesDemonstrable experience managing budgets and NEC contractsExcellent client and stakeholder management skillsStrong understanding of project management methodologies and delivery frameworksExperience across planning, procurement, commercial management, and contract administrationExcellent communication skills, with the ability to present at Director and Board levelStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesExtensive knowledge of health & safety regulations and compliance requirementsExperience working in multidisciplinary environmentsRead less
